In this scene Ramona is positioned to show that she is alone and the other people around her also are positioned so there is almost a path for Scott to reach her, this is done as the audience will then be able to infer that Scott likes Ramona and wants to get to her, by the other party goers making this easier for him it points out subtly that Ramona has also been positioned to see Scott as she may like him also.

In this scene the enemy of Scott who is Ramonas first evil ex is positioned in the middle of the room in front of Scott, Scotts friends and sister is also positioned at the top of the shot so you can see Ramona, although she is blurry on the shot you can clearly see its her this is used to show the enemy or Matthew Patel is linked to Ramona and she is why he is here.

In this scene Scott is placed I front of all of the other characters in the shot this is to show that he is either more important or the main character in the shot the other three characters are positioned behind Scott to show Scott's authority in the group, all the other characters also seem to be looking at Scott like he is better than them and they see him as an idol or role model.
